Ceremonial handover of the first electric transporter in Austria with TSA motor
On September 3, 2025, a landmark moment for e-mobility in Austria took place: in Wiener Neudorf, the first electric transporter featuring an Austrian-built electric motor by TSA was officially unveiled and handed over to Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA). The vehicle, produced by Swiss e-mobility pioneer Flux Mobility, marks a milestone for both companies – and for sustainable transportation in Austria.
Dugagjin (Duga) Hoti, Founder and CEO of Flux Mobility, and Robert Tencl, CEO of TSA, alongside further representatives from both companies joined the event. A highlight of the celebration was the unveiling itself: the vehicle was revealed as a rolling gate opened – symbolizing the dawn of a new era in
e-mobility.
“Being the proud owner of the first electric transporter with a TSA electric motor made in Austria is a very special moment for us. Our clear goal is to see more Austrian companies on the road with our motors, actively contributing to the country’s sustainable mobility,” said Robert Tencl.
“Our vehicles prove their strengths where demands are toughest – in alpine regions with steep climbs and narrow roads. With the TSA motor, our intelligent eAWD system, and strong recuperation, we deliver maximum efficiency, traction, and range. This is a clear advantage for markets like Austria and Switzerland,” added Dugagjin (Duga) Hoti.
Future prospects and cutting CO₂ emissions
The new transporter is more than a technical achievement – it’s a decisive step toward a cleaner future. Flux Mobility’s e-transporters reduce CO₂ emissions by up to seven times compared with equivalent diesel models – not only during operation, but across their entire lifecycle thanks to lower maintenance requirements, efficient energy use, and the long service life of the drive system.
Businesses also benefit from incentives such as the WKO’s ENIN program (“Emission-Free Commercial Vehicles and Infrastructure”). In urban environments, the transporters provide an additional advantage: minimal noise and zero local emissions improve quality of life while helping companies comply with increasingly strict environmental regulations.
As the electric commercial vehicle market grows rapidly, competitors from outside Europe are entering with low-cost solutions. In contrast, Flux Mobility and TSA deliberately focus on European value creation – offering high-quality alternatives with short supply chains, reliable service, and local production facilities.
From Switzerland to Austria – and beyond
Following successful deployments in Switzerland and Germany, this vehicle is the first Flux Mobility transporter with a TSA electric motor to operate on Austrian roads. With this launch, the two companies now cover the entire DACH region, opening a new market and new growth opportunities.
For TSA, the project is a historic first. After more than 60 years as a leading supplier of electric drive systems for rail vehicles and over 20 years for electric buses, TSA is now entering the transporter segment in the DACH region. Importantly, this marks the first TSA-powered road vehicle that can be operated by private individuals in public traffic.
“We aim to significantly expand our market share in the road segment by 2030 in line with our corporate strategy, while further strengthening our Wiener Neudorf site,” emphasized Tencl. “Our partnership with Flux Mobility is a milestone and a strong commitment to sustainable European value creation.”
