Innovative technology happens where people can contribute their knowledge, experience, and commitment over the long term. At Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA), specialists from a wide range of disciplines work every day to develop electric drive systems for rolling stock and commercial road vehicles used around the world.
That commitment was now recognized with a prestigious award: the employer review platform kununu has honored TSA with the Top-Rated Seal 2025 for Salary Satisfaction. The award is based exclusively on reviews from current and former employees on the platform.
As such, the recognition reflects how those who contribute to the company every day perceive TSA as an employer. For TSA, the award is more than just a badge. It confirms that its current compensation management approach is viewed positively and reinforces its commitment to continue along this path.
Fair compensation as a core element of corporate culture
The strong salary satisfaction rating is no coincidence. As early as 2014, Traktionssysteme Austria introduced a structured compensation management system. “From the very beginning, our goal has been to ensure fairness, transparency, and competitiveness, while sustainably strengthening employee motivation and attracting and retaining skilled professionals,” says Cornelia Buchschachner, Head of Human Resources.
At the heart of the system is a systematic approach: roles and positions within the company are clearly assigned to defined job profiles and levels, each linked to corresponding salary bands. Compensation is determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria. This ensures that equal and equivalent work is compensated equally, while differing requirements are evaluated accordingly.
A key component of the system is the regular analysis of existing compensation structures. The goal is to review perceived discrepancies based on data and make adjustments where necessary. In addition, TSA conducts market benchmarking every 2 years to ensure that its salary bands remain competitive externally.
By clearly structuring its compensation system with defined salary bands and transparent decision-making criteria, the company creates a consistent and easy-to-understand framework for pay across the organization. Equal opportunity and fairness are firmly embedded in this approach.
What are the criteria for the Top-Rated Seal 2025 for Salary Satisfaction?
To qualify for the award, companies must achieve a salary satisfaction rate of at least 70% and receive a rating of at least 3.8 out of 5 stars in the “Salary & Benefits” category. In addition, an overall rating of at least 3.4 stars is required. Companies must also have enough authentic reviews, including at least 6 employee reviews overall, as well as recent feedback submitted within the past 12 months.
Reviews from job applicants are not considered. Only feedback from current and former employees is taken into account. The seal is awarded only if all criteria are met at the same time. As a result, it is highly exclusive: only around 3 percent of companies reviewed on kununu qualify.
Employer attractiveness in an international market
For technology-driven industrial companies, employer attractiveness is becoming an increasingly important strategic success factor. Highly skilled professionals today have many options and research potential employers thoroughly before applying.
Digital employer review platforms such as kununu play a key role in this process. They provide insights into corporate culture, working conditions, and development opportunities—factors that are becoming increasingly important alongside a company’s technological focus.
The award for salary satisfaction therefore also underscores Traktionssysteme Austria’s position as an attractive employer in the international technology market.
