Right Measures in Employer Branding and Apprentice Recruiting to Fight Shortage of Skilled Workers

Generally speaking, searching for apprentices is not easy nowadays, as many young people opt for promising studies or another form of education. In difficult times like these, the search for talented and motivated apprentices is a particularly big challenge.

A few years ago, we have already addressed the considerations and problems of the target group and therefore focused our measures regarding employer branding and apprentice recruiting on the needs of the adolescents. With targeted communication in the “war for talents” on our website as well as on social media and by using the right content and the special amount of humor, we proved that working at Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA) is really fun.

For several years already, we have had great success in these areas. We were now able to find the best candidates from a total of 62 applicants for the mechanical engineering apprenticeships in 2021. In 3 casting days at Traktionssysteme Austria in Wiener Neudorf, the candidates got a first impression of their future workplace. We were also able to successfully complete the admission tests according to all safety regulations. Our 4 finalists can start their apprenticeships at TSA in September 2021.
