Home » TSA to supply traction motors for 87 trams in Oslo
Traktionssysteme Austria hits another strike: Sporveien, the public transport operator in Norway‘s capital, has selected Spain‘s CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A.) to deliver 87 Urbos trams which will be equipped with 696 traction motors by TSA. The tram network of Oslo, consisting of 6 lines with 99 stops, is one of the main pillars for the city‘s public transport and carries more than 130,000 passengers per day.
The city is implementing several measures of a modernization and expansion program which includes the new vehicle fleet with TSA motors as well as the replacement of old units that are currently in service. TSA motors power many more vehicles in Norway, like the Oslo Airport Express Line Flytoget, the Norwegian State Railways and the Bergen Light Rail.
