Home » Tram-Buses in Linz to be equipped with TSA Motors
Linz AG Linien, the public transport operator in Linz (A), will expand its fleet by 20 double-articulated Exqui.City tram-buses. The new vehicles with the futuristic Cityrunner look will be equipped with an innovative drive technology which is unique in Austria: Linz´s new zero-emission trolley tram-buses will be entirely electrically operated and powered by two maintenance-free asynchronous motors including a battery-powered reserve drive. The battery is charged during the ride through the overhead line or by its regenerative brake. This innovative technology makes it possible to cover short-distance routes catenary free.
With a new length of 24 meters, the vehicles increase the passenger capacity by 30% and allow the transport of 180 passengers per ride. The first vehicles are to be in service in late 2017. TSA is proud to be part of the project as we are delivering our latest motor technology for electric buses!
