TSA delivered first series for new trains of Turkish operator Istanbul Ulasim

Following a prototype order for the new Istanbul Ulasim tramways in 2012, the first 64 traction motors for the first series were ordered recently. The order was placed by our customer Vossloh Kiepe Austria who is responsible for the entire electric traction equipment.

Istanbul Ulasim was founded in 1988, in the course of the construction of the first modern underground line of today‘s megacity. The company currently employs a staff of approx. 900 employees indicating an upward trend. Istanbul Ulasim is operating several rail-based transport modes of Istanbul‘s public transport system, including the underground lines of Metro Istanbul, the light metro or Hafif Metro, the tramway lines, two cable cars and the underground funicular tram Füniküler.
